CLMF25: Ana Palindrome and Stella & the Dreaming

Coughlan's

Fri 26th Sep, 7:00 pm

Ana Palindrome is a band made up of Irish musicians Niamh Dalton (vocals, fiddle), Ruairi de Búrca (synths, programming) and Sara Leslie (bass, vocals).

The project follows a fictionalised character, Ana Palindrome, developing a personality and aesthetic that propels the vision for their songwriting & music

making. “With the bones of 10 songs written and currently being recorded, we’re only just getting to know Ana – she’s leading the ship, it’s pretty fun”, explains songwriter Niamh Dalton. “Ana’s generally a bit shook and rattled by the world but has enough fire in the belly to turn the drama into soft bops and dreamy ballads”.

Ana Palindrome kicked off their gigging output supporting Anna Mieka in St. Lukes Cathedral in November 2022. Since then, they’ve played numerous slots at All Together Now, Another Love Story, A Sliver of Light, In the Meadows, Culture Night, Quarter Block Party and Féile na Gréine, and playing alongside and

supporting acts such as Lankum, ØXN, Mount Eerie, The Altered Hours, John Francis Flynn, Black Country New Road and more. They received the Cork Music Award at IndieCork film festival 2023.

Stella & the Dreaming

From behind a garage door somewhere, stuffed with duvets and carpet covered frames, I write and record on a stripped back piano, distilling all my influences and obsessions into song-making. I give melody a world to live in, surrounded by keys changing and distorted vocals - this is the Dreaming.

Everything you hear is me; vocals, instrumentation and production.

‘The crowd roars in approval , lost in a hazy dreamscape created by her performance on a piano paired with an accompanying violinist and cellist.' - Hot Press, Whelan's Ones to Watch 2025

‘Elegiac and mysterious, they are all you could want from a contemporary songwriter’ - Irish Times, as one of their Irish Music Acts to watch out for in 2025.

Beta Da Silva’s 2fm choice for New Music's 'Grassroots Artist of the Week' 2024.

One of Irish Examiner's ‘Ready to break through, Irish Music Acts to watch out for in 2025’
