Nada Rien (Casey Black) & E.w. Harris

Coughlan's

Wed 2nd Apr, 8:00 pm

A Nashville-born son of a Hall of Fame country songwriter, Nada Rien singer-songwrites in a literary style about having a human mind in an animal's body. Like if Dostoevsky had grown up near Music Row. Like if Hemingway had a mental illness and could finger pick. He began his musical career as a songwriter in Nashville at 19, one of the youngest signed writers on the Row.

Since then, he has released four LPs and his latest EP Simulacra (2024, Nonexistent Records). His songs have been featured on TV shows Greek and Army Wives; he placed second in the Americana category of the International Songwriter Competition for I've Spent My Whole Life; and his songs have been covered by many musicians, including singersongwriter Mick Flannery.

Nada Rien returns to Ireland to play to celebrate both the re-release of his former self's second record (The Glass is Half) and the release of the first single off his forthcoming Nada Rien record, a song which happens to take place in Coughlans itself.

E.W. Harris is a Rust Belt born, Southern wrought, alt-folk singer/songwriter, producer, and artist based in Brooklyn, NY. A self-styled “Dystopian Romantic,” Harris combines sonic textures, memorable melodies, and powerful vocals to create music he calls “speculative folk.” At present, he can be found throughout the US & Europe performing in anticipation of his forthcoming release Machine Living In Relief, streaming on all platforms March 28th.

Praise for E.W. Harris:

"one of the most endearing, genuine, and fascinating artists in folk music." - Alice Lyndberg Rising Artists

"Harris’ performance is so refreshingly his own, an entirely unique approach and performance that’s not just exquisitely harmonic, but also wildly different from his contemporaries." - Kartik Sundar Find No Enemy
