Described by John Kennedy (Radio X) as Irelandâs answer to The National, the band have been honing and perfecting their live performance over the past few years. They are regulars at festivals such as Indiependence, Longitude and Electric Picnic and have supported world-class acts like Ride, Public Service Broadcasting and Palace. The band play their biggest headline to date at The Academy in Dublin this November, as well as a string of headline dates in the UK including a London show with John Kennedy from Radio X and Manchester date with Scruff of the Neckâs Chris Brearley.
Their mission statement is to merge electronica, dance and pop while fostering a spirit of inclusion always evident at the long-gone club âColumbia Millsâ in Dublinâs docklands from where they took their name. Columbia Mills live show is a work of art, with poignant lyrics becoming the antithesis of their upbeat melodies and impressive lights show. A Columbia Mills show needs to be enjoyed on a big stage⌠or in a big field!
Constant musical development has marked the journey of Columbia Mills since the bandâs inception in 2014. The band have released two critically acclaimed albums to date. âA Safe Distance to Watchâ and âCCTVâ. With their 3rd album âHeart of The Nationâ ready for release in September 2022. Recent singles Heart of the Nation, Addiction and Nevada have been added to RTĂ 2XM and Radio X playlists, were premiered in Irelands biggest magazine Hot Press and have received some incredible reviews from the likes of Irish Times and Today FM.
